Repost, Yahoo: Actrade Revenues and Profits by Division IshDad bendemeer7 asked: "Hi, I'm still new to ACRT and trying to understand more about their business. What percentage of their business is dealing with the export area of trade, and what percentage is imports?" Actrade has four distinct divisions: 1. Actrade Capital. Handles Trade Acceptance Drafts (TADs), which are marketed to U.S. companies. 2. Actrade International -- Export Division. Sells U.S. goods overseas. The sale of Bard air conditioning units to the telecommunications industry in Europe is a key product. 3. Actrade S.A. -- Int'l Trade Division. Markets goods manufactured outside the United States to foreign countries. The company says that growth in this division has come primarily from the sale of computers to Eastern Europe. 4. Allstate travel. Very tiny. Management may close it soon. According to Actrade's filings with the SEC, the revenues (in millions of $) for each division is as follows: Actrade Actrade Actrade Allstate Capital S.A. Int'l Travel Total FY95 3.70 6.75 5.92 .04 16.42 FY96 7.99 7.69 8.14 .02 23.84 FY97 21.67 14.74 7.07 .02 43.50 FY98(Q1&2) 24.81 14.42 3.87 .02 42.12 In percentage terms, each division contributes to total revenues as follows: Actrade Actrade Actrade Allstate Capital S.A. Int'l Travel FY95 22.6% 41.1% 36.3% <.1% FY96 33.5 32.3 34.1 <.1 FY97 49.8 33.9 16.3 <.1 FY98(Q1&2) 57.5 33.4 9.0 <.1 The company's filings don't specify the gross profits of Actrade International versus Actrade S.A. But Capital's share of total gross profits is as follows: Capital Total Gross Gross Profits Profits % FY96 $526,386 1,967,094 26.8% FY97 $1,366,322 4,038,471 33.8% FY98(Q1&2) $1,572,172 3,810,197 41.3% Capital's contribution to total net income is as follows: Capital Total Net Net % FY95 $7,153 407,793 1.8% FY96 100,616 757,374 13.3% FY97 $173,574 $1,903,581 9.6% FY98(Q1&2) $372,263 $2,036,239 18.3% Three conclusions: 1.) TADs are driving revenue growth, with Actrade S.A. also helping out. 2.) TADs contribute far less to total net income than to total revenues or gross profits. 3.) Actrade S.A. contributes mightily to net income. To other posters, if I have any of the numbers wrong, please post the corrections. As always, do your own due diligence. ACRT:
