Market Outlook: A Contrarian Opinion. I am in the process of slenderizing my long term portfolio which consists of companies like VOCLF, ELNK, CSCO, ESCMF, INTC and BEN. I find I am more and more hesitant to hold my trades overnight. I buy less calls from any one company than ever before. I expect the ax to fall any day. I don't expect it to be long-lived but I don't want to be 'caught' in the upcoming correction. I like having cash in the account so I can take advantage of any impending disasters.

MITCHAM <MIND.O> SAYS IT DOES NOT EXPECT TO MEET Q4, FY97 ANALYSTS' ESTIMATES

MIND looked sick for the last 2 days. A very important determinant if an 'earnings play' is ever a valid play is the stock's activity in the days preceding the report. If the stock is active and trending higher you can get in and out without ever having risked taking it home. On the other hand if it trends down you are saved the risk and can go on to another play.. It's pretty neat.

Lastshadow - Re: UTI

Yesterday while moving up the stop, I entered a sell instead. Sold UTI @ 17 1/4. Can you advise if still a good play, and how to pick re-entry? Thanks.
