Jeffrey, Katherine can likely illuminate, but my understanding is that there are advantages to building the photomask capability fairly close to a major customer.. Some of those customers have been used to having an inhouse capability, for one thing. DPMI's newest facility is actually located on the grounds of LSI Logic's new fab in Gresham, OR. I have no idea whether or not they intend to serve anyone other than LSI, but INTC is right down the road also, and that would make a nice target, it would seem to me.
If my recollection is correct, DPMI already has a major facility in Taiwan, so I don't anticipate that they will serve that major market out of Korea... the Korean market itself is massive...Samsung is the largest individual maker of DRAM in the world, the last I knew, and is selling their auto business and a couple of others to further concentrate on chips... so, a good market for DPMI to stay involved in, IMHO...
