Actually, it turns out I'm well aware of how long these things take; the fact that it takes many months to make a dent and several years to topple the top product in virtually any category seems so obvious that it would be rather condescending (read: insulting the intelligence of the reader) to actually state that. I'm finding that even common sense notions, which would normally go unspoken, actually do need to be qualified with some.
