Gabriela,

<<Its almost so mind boggling that it makes me seriously think if I am the one who doesnt grasp reality.>>

I chuckled when I read your post... like I was looking into a mirror.

<< I really think that it is most important in the next few months to think contrarian and dig in the heels.

I agree ... hope that we are right.

Gabriela, you're sanity is just fine, actually impeccable -g-, but the sanity of the crowd, put under euphoric spell of the market bubble is what is in question. To be able to go against the crowd thinking, and hold your convictions is a rare virtue.

This situation reminds me the the 1984 Apple commercial, where the lemmings were following each other off the cliff.

You said,

>>>I go through this process at least twice a day. And then I conclude, after taking a very deep breath and thinking about it again, that I am not insane.<<<<

Keep taking those deep breaths, and Hold Gold for a quick trade at XAU 84.

bwdik,
bobby

PS: just heard a Joe Battaglia report that Soros has been heavily investing in a silver mine in Bolivia, SINCE 1993.

Gabriela, Bloomberg reported today that overall earnings SHRANK last Qaurter year over year. It didn't say that growth decelerated, It said shrank. (I invite others to confirm this). Blamed the Asian crisis.

If, instead of the 1.7% growth analysts are forecasting this Q, overall S&P earnings shrink again year over year, we'll have an average PE 27 market at a time when then the current trend is for earnings is downward. 27 years is a long time to wait, and considering the risk associated with equities, current market valuations make absolutely no sense.
