People have "proved" that it was about Nero, Hitler and even the Catholic Church itself - just as they are now "proving" it is Saddam. Now, my personal view is that the entire book of revelations is nothing more than the ramblings of a lunatic, so I don't take it very seriously - I just hope that nobody really believing this crap ever gets into a position of real power.
