Jan you have done extraordinarily well. I wish I had tripled in the last eight months!
But it is a general principle and this is an unusual situation.
What I prefer to do is make a judgement, pick a time to buy (or sell short) and put in a proportion (about 50%) of the total amount I would be willing to commit. Then I have 50% to buy/sell at a different price. Often I don't use the other 50% but the key thing is I decide up front, in the cold light of day, the total amount I am prepared to commit. Gives flexibility to react to developments in the co. or the stock price.

So to answer your question properly, yes I might average up/down but with $ already set aside.
