What's the matter, Jon, you don't think you're going to like the new Saladmaster commercial on your computer?

It's ironic, but I assure you that advertising will be expert at separating money from suckers. It always has been, always will be.

Frankly, I hate advertising. But this is America and advertising always wins. Whether it's Joe Camel or the Ivory Soap woman or the beer we drink, they'll be all sorts of provocative images bouncing off our computer screens.

I don't have the reference, but I remember hearing something somewhere (CNBC maybe?) about theoretical discussions to provide internet access for everyone, in order to better deliver commercial products to consumers. I wish I could remember the text. Does anyone out there recall reading or hearing about anything like this recently?

I guess all I can say is: Don't tell me they'll be no role for movie quality ads in the future--it's in the bag! And I know I'm going to hate it.
