Since you have done the research, maybe you could identify which companies are in a catch-up mode and falling further behind.

Interesting theory. It still requires that Micron survive some serious cash flow problems throughout 1998, and that the Asians really drop dead. Its the kind of play that might look attractive with a company priced at less than 1 x sales and a strong cash position.
