Teri-- this is an after-thought of the discussion of the need for more powerful computers in absence of "killer apps". One of my first big gains was in appx 1980 when I bought Cray Research in the OTC. They made super-computers, and broke off from I-forgot-the-name. It was estimated that the world demand for super-computers was 40, and they cost 8 million or so each. I just read an article that there is a fight between the defense dept and the National Science Foundation for the computers since they are so short in supply. Obviously they are many multiples of the 1980 power now. More powerful computers are like "Field of Dreams"-- if you build them, they will come.

good investing-- fred

PS- the Cray investment paid for my sabatical term in London.
