So, Lair was at Acer for a total of 2 months?

Something's not right here. Here's a quote purportedly from a May, 1997 Acer press release:

"Listening to our mobile computing customers, Acer America designed the Extensa 610 Series to meet their needs for powerful performance, expandability and the latest multimedia capabilities," stated Steve Lair, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Acer America's Commercial Systems."

Steve Lair's title was Senior VP of Sales and Marketing. He was employed from January 1, 1998 to February 28, 1998.

The starting year feels wrong. Typo, right?

A source tells me the following...

a] PR soon [Fri. / Mon] Perhaps Lair CEO news? NEW Corp. Direction?

b] 3 Zulu divisions [Tek / Media / Commerce] TBA

c] Co. incurred a substantial 1997 loss [as we anticipate] and thus should compare to DCLK's 1997 loss of $8+ MM or 0.80 cents / share
IMO Zulu should fair MUCH better in EPS vs. DCLK

d] Old SIM management was poor at managing the co. hence the loss and thus NEW management is slashing overhead as witnessed by office closures and executives bumped out or quit depending on who's version you get.

e] The company hopes to double 1997 sales of 39 MM in 1998!!

f] Co. hopes to therefore be profitable shortly after

g] financials still on track - stay tuned

As a former corporate Wall St. HR Executive: It is common & ethical HR practice NOT to disclose personal info such as: 'why' an ex-employee left the firm, their 'age' etc. If you were to freely get this info from an HR person or whomever @ the company, that person, IF known, would be in hot water to say the least. Granted, there are those who would not think twice about sharing such info...I certainly would not want them to have access to my personnel info. In short, info regarding high profile Executives is typically found through PR stories...
