Valid points.

I am leaning towards the seed theory. While IBM does still have a considerable amount of dead weight, I do not think the Sprague's are in a position to be charitable. Also, most business owners create an exit strategy, whether it is 1, 5 or 20 years down the line.

Should IBM buyout wavx in a few years, the Spragues could still become very wealthy on earnout bonuses. I do think that wavx needs someone like IBM to take an equity interest. Otherwise other oems may not want to risk reconfiguring their PCs for a company as small as wavx. It is also very similar to how intel works. Intel takes equity interests in up-and-coming hi-tech company's, and then buys them out once they have created a valuable product. I thoroughly believe this has to be part of wavx's strategy going forward. This would really give wavx the stability that other oems will require. Just thinking out loud.
