Mary, Re: "***Delayed opening on the NASD (?) - Order imbalance - an SI Intel short (very small hedge fund manager, small time computer system entrepreneur, foreigners with questionable visa status - take your pick) causing disturbance trying to get out of position."

Ok I'll pick tomorrow at high noon! $88 per share by the close.

Intel may not have to buy back all those shares. But obviously they decided to position the company to take that action from here on.

Intel now knows it is more prudent to manage debt than cash in this environment. And it has the ability to put a floor on the stock price. All you shorts out there just know there is a BIG BUYER OF THIS STOCK - no matter what the fundamentals or technical look like - waiting to make a move.

Qutestion: Does Intel have commercial paper?
