It's not the announcement but the timing...remember when Intel threw water on AMDs announcement of the K6 by issuing their own announcements on the same day? Jim

PAUL - been lurking on the thread for the last couple of month's -enjoying reading your thought's and humor . A couple of question's for your insight to INTEL : 1) Has the FTC approved the purchase of the HUDSON chip plant from DEC yet ? I was under the impression that this was to close in APRIL ? 2) Don'T you feel the support of ALPHA by INTEL locks CPQ/DEC customer's into the conversion when MERCED is available in sufficent quanities to make CPQ a true WINDOW'S 5.0/ MERCED platform in the year 2000 ? Large amount of dollars for INTC/MSFT/CPQ GOOD TO TALK TO YOU AGAIN BEST WISHES BILL
