Greg/Ron,

Just to clarify my previous message, the magazine (EE Times)
did not call Siliconix' MOSFET line the best, Vishay/Siliconix
did in their full page advertisement. Siliconix has long
been recognized for good price/performance MOSFET's.

MOSFET stands for metal-oxide semiconductor field effect
transistor. Siliconix is particularly strong in MOSFET's
that are used in switching power supply circuits. Such
circuits are used across the board in the electronics industry
so the potential for future design wins is strong. For example
getting such a part designed into a high volume cellular phone
(which they have done) is a big win.

What Vishay can now provide is all the components necessary
to build such a power supply, except the "controller" chip.
These components include large and small value capacitors,
inductors, precision resistors and of course MOSFETs.
Controller chip suppliers include guys like MOT, TI, Linear
Tech, Maxim, and Elantec.

>>>Ron, read Jay's note a couple days ago to learn that a magazine
has called VSH/SILI's mofset the best in the business. Sorry
I can't tell you what a mofset is.....
