Mike,

The highway to Antioch via Pittsburg is itself a memorable experience. Rest assured, I have put the Antioch Bridge on my to-do list of places to visit and things to see, although somewhere near the bottom.

Aside from the Bay Bridge, wasn't the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge the only bridge to remain closed for any real length of time after Loma Prieta? The Dumbarton and Benicia Bridges were closed temporarily but reopened almost immediately. Going on memory, it seems that the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge was found to have sustained worrisome damage, and isn't it one of the newer bridges, the 84 being the newest? I'm still something of a tourist.
