I don't see why LSI can't come up with a super-duper CDMA chip. I expect them to do so sometime in the next year or 18 months. My preference is for them to make sure the market is there before spending too much R&D money. LSI is too small to be everything to everyone - they have to pick their spots. And they have to pick wisely.
