Additionally, all of Mitsubishi Electric's 1100 series
encoders and decoders can accept data signals on
a dedicated RS-232 port to permit fully
synchronized insertion of the advanced caption
data, which conforms to the EIA-708 standard.
The 1100 series products also include a wide variety
of input/ output options, 4:2:2 or 4:2:0 operation and
the ability to compress 1920 x 1080 images to well
below 19 Mbps (while maintaining excellent picture
quality), plus a long list of features requested bybroadcasters.

........-- LIN Television. Mitsubishi Electric is cooperatingwith LIN
Television and Comark Digital Services on MajorLeague Baseball's
opening day to broadcast the Texas Rangers gameagainst the
Chicago White Sox. Using Mitsubishi Electriccodecs, LIN
Television and Comark will transmit the game via anATM link to
Washington D.C., where it will be broadcast fromWHD-TV and
viewed in HDTV on Capitol Hill by members of theTexas
congressional delegation. The game will also air inHDTV on
KXAS-TV in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
-- Comark Digital Services. Mitsubishi Electric isteaming up
again with Comark and TV Globo this summer toprovide HDTV codecs
that will enable the first HDTV broadcast of liveWorld Cup
Soccer action from France to Brazil.
