looks great -- would you have numbers on odd-lot shorts? sometimes the totals of shorts are misleading, since this is an institutional stock, and insts employ hedging/offsetting strategies.

A million new shorts for us and about 1.5 million for XLNX. Seems to me that 45 is even more important now. Most of the people that shorted over the last month are in the money at the moment. They all bought in between 40 and 45. My experience is that shorts are rarely long term, so moving back up to 45 might chase a lot of shorts out. The other 6.5 million shorts would have had to buy in before Dec to be in the money. To me, that seems like a long time for a short. If we can move back to 45 in the next couple of weeks, I think that we could have the additional boost of a short squeeze. I don't think many shorts would wait much longer than that to cover. Shorts covering and good earnings might be too much to ask for though.
