Kiri, As a long term subscriber to the PTJ and a follower of Connors, I think his strategies have helped me become a more effective and profitable trader. I have been trading his CVR and Trin Thrust strategies and have done well with them. Quite honestly, profits have outpaced the cost of the book by a large margin! With this in mind, I would highly recommend his book to anyone who is serious about trading short term.
