This might be some old news but I thought I would post any way. Qualcomm Inc (QCOM) Late yesterday, QUALCOMM INC said it had signed a contract to provide the infrastructure equipment, terminals and deployment services to operate a wireless local loop telecommunications system in China. The contract was signed with the Beijing Telecommunication Administration (BTA). Financial details were undisclosed. Under the deal, the system will operate on a trial basis in the Wukesong area of Beijing. The trial system has already been deployed and is operational. (Reuters 07:19 PM ET 03/25/98)
