Getgo:

If LSI mentions the word "inventory" I'll be requesting my LSI stock certificates and as soon as I get them rip them to shreds!

Two things they must not do - mention the I word and mention the S word. There was no hint that either of these were a problem in their last c.call and doing so now would lessen their already very weak credibility on the street.

OK I'll give them one mention of the I thing - computer related or workstations. But none of the other sectors I hope!

LSI said flat revenue and marginally better earnings for this q. I expect better revenue (though it may be temporary) and beating estimates by one or two cents. Any more than this and people are apt to get just a bit too excited.

LSI must learn to do a better job as far as making promises goes - don't promise the world if you ain't gonna keep it! Look at SUN with their most recent Java package. Quiet as mice. Quite unlike the last release when they were yelling to the world. Better this way. Now it's time for Java to get busy. Likewise LSI has a new fab ready to get going. If they are as good as we hope then we should be seeing a nice buildup of revenue over the next few quarters. In the past LSI has extolled "System on a Chip" etc etc etc and they got stung badly with poor revenue growth, a lack of credibility on the street and a sense of disenchantment with investors. I don't blame anyone but LSI for this. They should and it looks like they have toned down the hype. While looking for that old annual report for Moonray, I happened across several old snippets about LSI - so many promises of great times - all unfulfilled. Not a good thing. Giving them the benefit of the doubt I shall hope that was all past history and they have learned!

On a related note one of the fund managers for Invesco Strategic Technology was asked a question about LSI on AOL. He said "LSI is a mainstay. As long as Wilf Corrigan is around, they will receive more wins than losses." I hope mainstay does not mean subpar stock performance...
