That report went out of it's way to blame Adobe's troubles on the Mac, while trumpeting the 18% rise in Wintel products and their new position of dominance with Adobe products. Why? Only they know. But it's clear that if the cause was also a changeover in Mac product cycles, they went out of their way to fudge this fact.

Sadly, if I were an analyst looking at this report, I would have to conclude the following:

If a major vendor of Mac platform apps wasn't selling their products in an environment where everyone believes Mac sales are up dramatically, then perhaps the platform the apps run on, isn't selling quite as well as everyone believes.

I'm sorry, but that's how I believe it's going to be interpreted, whether other competitive apps are selling well and stealing sales from Adobe or not. Adobe went out of their way to make that conclusion inevitable.

I expect to take a good-sized hit tomorrow morning.

how will AAPL likely be affected tomorrow by ADBEs earnings info and specifically its comments regarding reduced Mac sales?

Sadly, I think it's going to renew the "Apple is dying; Don't buy into a dying platform" mentality that Apple almost shook off in the last three months. Apple had better start knocking John Warnock's head hard and get him to reaffirm his commitment to the Macintosh platform real soon, or else the jinx might come back.

On the bright side, it might give the longs another chance to see a 100% appreciation in their AAPL stock ($26 -> $13 -> $26).
