I called MPRS today and talked to the Investor Relations person, Virginia Turner. She was very nice, and I invited her to contribute to the thread or at least come and lurk. She did take down the URL; we'll see what happens. I just thought I would get an update from MPRS on the games and their present delivery dates from the horse's mouth as it were. Addiction 3D Pinball - not a revenue generator this year, no date. Battletech: Mech Commander - Sept. 98 Ultimate Civilization II (Finale) - due by Christmas Civilization III - hoping to be ready by Christmas, but probably after European Air War - slipped schedule, didn't have a date Falcon 4.0 - 7/1/98, big team in house working hard to make date Guardians: Agents of Justice - 7/1/98 Klingon: Honor Guard - within the next 12 months Star Trek: First Contact - within the next 12 months Star Trek NG: Birth of the Federation: within the next 12 months Masters of Magic 2 - no schedule; (I think this one is not on radar) MechWarrior 3 - 3rd Quarter 98 Starship Troopers - late this year X-COM4: Interceptor - 3rd Quarter 98 I forgot to ask about Fifth Element and she told me about the other X-COM game but I didn't write down the details, sorry. She also mentioned new games that would be under development: Top Gun: Hornet's Nest ChopLifter: all 3D sequel Apache: Flight Simulator MIG 29: Flight Simulator My impressions (MY IMPRESSIONS: a second time for emphasis) is that the MPRS people are kicking hard to get Falcon 4.0 out on time. They know that a lot of people are watching for that particular game and MPRS wants to get it out well before the Christmas season. They are trying to release a lot of titles and to keep them coming steadily, but they do suffer delays as most software houses do I guess. I was a little disappointed to hear that CIV III would likely be out after Christmas because that is a somewhat unique game and franchise/high value offering. The Starship Troopers game clearly has slipped its reported (2Q 98) date. I joked that I hope it was more like the book than the movie (Beverly Hills 90210 kills the bugs). She said that she thought they were emphasizing the book more, but she couldn't really say. I asked about the influence of Internet gaming, what sort of importance MPRS placed on it for their games. She said that MPRS considers that the games "have to have that capability even if people don't use it, but it doesn't necessarily add up to increased sales." I asked about Worms2 sales, what the sales were like etc. She tried to find the early figures, but could not. She said that she normally gets the sales figures when the quarterly report comes out. I told her I would call back then to get the figures. I guess you folks on the thread get faster numbers than the folks in-house do. She did say that the Worms2 game was a little different than MPRS normal game output, more geared to younger gamers and "casual" gamers. She said that the marketing is geared as such and that they are pleased so far with its acceptance. Sorry about the long post Filbert
