The news was, to put it mildly, positive. It wasn't that great of deal. Why do you ask? It's just a licensing agreement. Are the current Zip licencees producing any drives yet? Look how long it's taken them to get on board and yet I'm still not sure if volume shipments have begun. Although, the IBM announcement might be a sign a good sign.

This, IMO, is the reason why the news was not looked at as blockbuster event.
