The Globe's Paul Waldie writes that Mr Felderhof is being sued, along with other Bre-X directors, analysts and brokerages, by investors who lost $3 billion when Bre-X's Busang was declared a fraud last year. Mr Groia challenged the allegations in the lawsuit that there is no gold in Busang, even though an independent audit of the site said there is an insignificant amount of gold. Mr Groia says his statement of defence is going to say there is an economic gold deposit, it is commercially viable and it ought to be pursued. Mr Groia says the issue surrounding the amount of gold at Busang is critical because it will establish whether Mr Felderhof acted recklessly.
