DCF,

Interesting to consider the Old Testament a shadow of things to come. A very "wheel" metaphor (ha ha, punography). I've just been reading Thomas Cahill's, "The Gifts of the Jews - How a Tribe of Desert Nomads Changed the Way Everyone Thinks and Feels", and he points out that before Abraham, religious thought was like a wheel - cyclical. Abraham was the first to break out of this cyclical paradigm.
I realize if you take a metaphor too far it breaks down, but I can't resist. I do not remember exactly which sculptor said (and I'm paraphrasing): the statue is already in the stone, I just chip away the rest. Can the created exceed the creator? If the creator is God, then it is probably heresy. Otherwise.... :-)
