1. If you short, you lose.
2. The number for BillG must not be split adjusted. He has closer to 22%.
3. Paul Allen always sells for diversification. When you have billions, who cares? He is into to sports, startup technologies, and others. Heck, if I had the money I would play with it too.
4. Microsoft is not overvalued. I heard a top analyst (from DMG) state recently that he thinks Microsoft is undervalued! For example, name me what products actually shipped this fiscal year? And yet the company is seeing stellar growth. On the other hand, the next fiscal year will see Win98, Office98, NT5, Visual Studio, etc. This is a no brainer! Microsoft is WAY UNDERVALUED!

People have been saying for the past 2 1/2 years that Microsoft has been overvalued and they have all been wrong. And looking at the future, this is the one time in those 2 1/2 years when one can say that they truly have great things in the pipeline. Never before have so many great things been coming out at the same time. That is why this company is dirt cheap!

Just my own two bits.
