I watch a Level II most of the day, and even before the Goldman rating hit the wires, I noticed that Goldman was a new VECO marketmaker. I think part of the "pop" that day was solely due to the fact that Goldman became a player. Goldman was also on the bid far more than the ask, and although there is no way to tell for sure what they were doing, it sure seemed to me like they were accumulating (I missed most of yesterday). I suspect that they started it as a "market perform" so they can accumulate it before upgrading. Jay
