It's a matter of leadership. I might suggest that part of the responsibility we as Americans have to each other was seriously compromised by the Nixon White House. The famous " I am not a crook" speech ultimately led to Nixon's humiliating resignation. It's a matter of leadership, from the top down. If people see the leaders as corrupt, liars, adulterers, crooks--then we get what we deserve.

We see rapists, murderers, charged with heinous crimes only to be represented by liberal lawyers arguing the mental state of the perp at the time of the alleged crime is due to childhood, society, low self-esteem and all sorts of this claptrap. Where is the responsiblity? Why does the blame always get shifted? Look at Clinton. He blames everybody and takes no responsiblity. Leadership. We get what we deserve.
