I think you are placing FAR too much emphasis on MMs ability to move (or keep stagnant) the markets. Their main function is to facilitate trades. If more than 80% of the volume was from MMs, that just means they are doing their job. If there was enough demand for the stock, it would have pushed over 24. It's ludicrous to think that MMs, whose funtion it is to make 1/8 or 1/4 point on a trade, care which direction the stock price goes. Their only concern is that they don't get stuck with the stock overnite.

As for the large buy volume you saw, for every buy there's a sell. I seriously doubt MMs are holding this stock overnite.
