David, Just because a stock falls below $5 does mean that you will lose marginability on that stock. It will still be on the Federal Raserves list of marginable stocks and whether you can or cannot margin at that level is totally determined by your broker. Most brokers will not give a margin call unless you have insufficient funds in your account to cover the margin. Hope this helps.
