THERE WILL BE *NO* NEWS RELEASE...

This was posted on CW last yesterday afternoon. I would have brought it toyou then, but I'd already reached my 3 post limit (still waiting for that big payoff, so I can afford to actually join SI).

*I* just spoke to Sheri Blum of Applied Materials. She's *not* happy.

Apparently she is responsible for the TSIS deal, and is also responsible for any press release regarding the deal.

She claims that it is Applied Materials' policy *not* to allow individual vendors (of which they have hundreds) to issue press releases regarding contracts with Applied Materials. In addition, she said that the company policy is *not* to issue any releases regarding vendor contracts themselves, as this would give individual vendors unfair advantages over others.

She stated that Interactive Telesystems came to her with a press release of their own, requesting permission to release it. She read it, took it to her PR people to find out if it would be appropriate, and subsequently rejected it.

She then said that Interactive Telesystems went ahead and released the news to Bloomberg, and she was forced to go and get it PULLED OFF!

She clearly indicated that it was disturbing to her that this happened, and that I, a lowly TSIS shareholder, was *bothering* her with a phone call regarding it in the first place.

I mentioned Carol's name, and that I'd heard the rumor on the internet. She asked me to call her back with the URL of the board I heard it on (I didn't tell her the name). I don't plan on returning her call. What's the point?

In summary, according to Sheri Blum of Applied Materials, there will be NO press release tomorrow, or EVER!
