John, you can't possibly believe that Intel's margins are not coming under some serious pressure. I also think that you are too smart to believe that Slot 1 doesn't qualify as proprietary. And, with processor power no longer being the primary bottleneck for processing speed, the x86 market is becoming a commodity market. I am an IDTI investor and wish that it was not so - the huge margins would be great to capitalize on. If Intel were to develop a PC on a chip then it would rule again. As it is I think they are a solid company that finds itself the head of a growing group of IC manufacturers that can meet the soup-to-nuts needs of box makers and manufacturers that compete in the communications arena. Intel still rules the roost, and I hope your investment pays off, but denying that the market mentality about processors has changed doesn't change the fact that it has.

John, Pentium II is not as well received as the MMX was. There is a lot of lag in sales, as current speeds are marginally better than MMX. The celeron, a crippled Pentium II, it better be under $50 or Cyrix et all will eat it for lunch.

End runs have started around the slot 1, and even by Intel, as they admit it has not reached high enough sales.
Plot the MMX versus P-II, if you can get good data. the compare with AMD sales which are growing.
