Toby,I don't see competition coming into Cree auto mkt.because of esd problems,all the competition is a knockoff of nichia chip which is based on sapphire which is nonconductive and cannot be a vertical device.Cree new cb290 is 1.3cd and is bright enough for most application, you will see as bright a chip as nichia at a much lower price this year.cree wafers are at 2"and they have shown 3" also nichia can only sell lamps not chips like cree another big advantage. My analysis is that cree will outsell nichia by the end of the year.
