Party, I'm not familiar with the technology you are talking about. I'm assuming, though, that you are talking about a chip that could store either an analog charge (level) or a digital bit in the same cell.

This would be terribly useful for storing images, sounds, and videos in a computer - it would use the computer's memory much more efficiently.

However, I see little impact on "movie advertising", since it doesn't do anything to help speed the delivery of the video over the net, which is the primary technical roadblock to this type of advertising. (Though I think that THE primary roadblock is, in fact, consumer acceptance.) It does help counter one objection to such advertising, which is that it requires excessive resources from the user's PC. This would cut down on the use of one resource - memory.
