Holly -- Al norte is Espanol for "to the north", where you're ensconced. And you're right, if your place is shake-resistant, you should be OK in anything but the worst tolling of the lithologic bell.
Of course, that says nothing about dealing with the aftermath.

There are those of us who take the quake potential of non-California places seriously, especially in the US Geological Survey. Unfortunately, like all other potentials, no one in power takes them seriously until they actualize.
