I guess what i was trying to convey is that the individual will not be able to influence individual stocks over a sustained period of time since they are directly controlling a much smaller amount of money. For example LU,AOL,PFE,MRK,AHP,etc etc have been rockets. I find it difficult to believe that the individual investor is causing this to happen. I think it it easier to attribute it to the mutual funds(who admittedly are financed by the individual).
