Yep, the motherboard for the DT and MT are virtually identical. Both are mini-ATX (Gossamer). The drive compartment sits right over the motherboard for the G3 DT models and does not allow enough clearance for some 128MB SDRAM DIMMs, but some 3rd party companies are coming out with newer designs that fit the DT models as well as 256MB DIMMs for the MT models.

The memory industry has been moving from using 8 Megabit chips (1MB/chip) to the higher density 64 Megabit chips (8MB/chip). Even with the 8MB chips they need to pack 32 of them on a single DIMM (16 on each side) to make a 256MB DIMM.
