I don't get the scintillating scotoma. I do get migraines however. The closest thing to a prodrome i ever identified was an electric hair-raising sensation on one patch of scalp.
Oh yeah. One other thing. Night terrors. I can wake up from a mundane dream which just became Terrifying, the kind where you try to scream yourself awake. I do wake up and hear myself moan. Then I lie there soaked in terror, and I usually need to switch on the light to reassure myself that I am indeed awake.
I have had night terror dreams where i dream that i wake up, and i try to get up, or I turn on the light, and something ain't working. I have had these dreams be four-five levels deep. Where I dream that I wake up, then realize it was a dream when I wake up again...etc. Yucky.
I do have low-level visual "trash" during a migraine. It takes closed eyes in a dark room to see them. And they tend to come late in the course of my migraines.
