The earnings shortfall for Adobe due to Asian issues and the lack of Mac sales is BS. The slowing down of Mac sales is very, very old news.

The problem is that when Adobe was on the Mac platform, the software sold itself which is how the company operated. They belatedly moved to the PC platform where other companies there had already gained market share. Their PC product was substantially lacking important features, including the nice user interface which is where the allot of the power of the product came from with the Mac version of thei product. Adobe did not respond intelligently to this new competition and market place. Instead of aggressive marketing and perhaps new products and new innovative product features which would help them take away market share, they exersized their money machine by offering specials on upgrades to their products. What features they did add to their products for instance with their Illustrator product IMO did not offer any substantial value to their product. They did add "filters" to Illustrator which is technology they borrowed from their Photoshop product. But the point I am makings is that this company has not been making it on innovation like they had in the past. And they appear not to understand how to make it in today's PC marketplace. But I do think their product is more advanced and better to use then their competitor's product. However, their competitor with the Corel line of products have been competing with this by bundling allot of value and attaching an inexpensive price tag. Still, Adobe does have very good customer support.
