Nitrates are venous dilators. Phentolamine is an arterial dilator. They could cause significant hypotensive problems when used together. Nitrates are very widely used. The Viagra contraindication will eliminate quite a few patients that might benefit from it, but that should not stop it from being a blockbuster medication, IMO. Chances are that Phentolamine will not be able to be used (or at least used very cautiously) with nitrates also.
