The problem with estimating reserves is that one must know who is doing the estimating. We have often heard the old phrase "third party independent" engineers or analysis. However, sometimes when one checks into the backgrounds and previous transactions of the so-called "third-party independent" engineers one discovers that these estimates may not be so independent after all. Just something to think about as we analyze estimates of both proven and unproven reserves. If the number you start with is questionable then it should be safe to question all calculations as to the value placed on those reserves. Offie
