TO ALL DISAPPOINTED E-TRADE CUSTOMERS: SEE FOLKS, THIS STUFF HAPPENS TO ALL OF THE ON-LINE BROKERS EVENTUALLY. So it's stupid to single out E-Trade. With technology comes unexpected glitches. E-Trade has addressed most of their problems and continues to do so.

Ameritrade, Facing Service Problems, Vows To Fix Systems

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--First, Ameritrade Holding Corp. (AMTD) spent big money on television ads. The ads got it lots of new customers.

Then those hordes of new customers jammed up the Internet broker's computer systems, resulting in service delays and outright technical outages on the World Wide Web.

"I have just completely given up," said Steve Salgo, a disillusioned Ameritrade customer from the Dallas area. "I haven't bothered to trade with them for at least a month."
