First you would need enough memory to remember to turn the
computer "ON", after that I don't know(ggg)
Under Chrome the computer receives instructions rather than gif
images, so there is a lot less incoming bytes.

I have run a proto copy of chrome, recommendation from MSFT was 128MB on a 2P or better workstation. chrome greatly reduces transmission bandwidth requirements but does it at the expense of lots of CPU and lots of memory to do the rendering. This was a very early copy so the final version will probably be more efficient.
