Bernard, <At this one vendor Mac has serious inventory problems> Creative computer a large Mac distributor in California, closed all 6 of their stores leaving only one open in Santa Monica. They were experiencing a lot of competition from CompUSA, but their catalog sales were/are presently doing great and will remain open. They too had inventory shortages (as you refer to above) before they decided to close, but they were self induced and had nothing to do with AAPL supply line. Just my 2cents worth... Cheers, Dennis

Bernard,

There is only one national vendor (CompUSA), major or otherwise, unless you're talking about a mail-order company. If you are talking about mail-order, then I think you have to take the success of CompUSA and other storefronts into account.

Regards,

Scott

To clarify, I am speaking of only one vendor. But is not a mid-tier vendor. It is a major national vendor with a specialization in Macs. At this one vendor Mac has serious inventory problems. This vendor may not be typical. But there is no reason why it shouldn't be that I can think of.

Benard,

Please explain why you think find it inappropriate to name the 'vendor' to which you refer. I cannot for the life of me envision a valid reason, and I cannot put much credence in your 'fact' without the name. For all I know, you are attempting to pass along misinformation.

Sam
