Leslie, Can you please give me a reference, which says that Globalstar has made it well known that they are not trying to attract the global business traveller? They only want people with not much money? I don't believe that is true. I know that is becoming conventional wisdom, but I doubt it is founded on anything other than Iridium's inability to compete in a lower priced environment.

Enormous tail charges? Have you noticed what has been happening to long distance call prices? The actual cost of carrying long distance calls is nearing zero. There will not be enormous tail charges. The profits from calls are increasingly going to the company which collects the customer in the first place. Fibre is nearly free. Iridium knows this and so they are frantically removing calls from the space segment to terrestial switching.

PS: Okay, I couldn't help it...famous last words.

"I'll not bore you with the interplay between handset prices,
demand based pricing etc etc and blah blah. What restraint they cheer!!..."
