Pardon Me? Were you speaking to me when you said "You sound like one of the weak shareholders who is looking for an exit point that won't be too embarrasing<sic> to you." Funny, but I don't recall confiding my thoughts about when I should sell or buy, to you. In fact, until very recently, I don't even recall seeing a post by you. I am truly amazed at the amount of opinions that you have, and the amount of assessments that you have made, considering that it is only recently you have deigned to post on this thread. Another of your contradictory statements: "I think I meant that weak sharholders>sic> don't average down on a stock they believe in. They just whine about it (there loss) and sell on the rallies. I've done thios <sic>." Why in the world would you have to whine about it before selling on the rallies? If I were going to sell, either on rallies or otherwise, I would simply do so. I don't recall asking anyone when I should buy, or if I should buy, so why would I ask them when I should sell? Your reasoning that shareholders don't average down on stocks they believe in, just doesn't make sense. It's contradictory! If they believe in the stock they are far more apt to average down, than if they are simply traders looking for a rally to sell into. Most of the posters on this thread have been longer term players, and we have had some who took enough profits to cover their costs and let the rest ride, and still others who have sold out and bought back in several times. There are just as many ways to play the market as there are players. eg; long term players, shorters, in and outers, players who sell out on a double, players who jump on for a short ride. Which ever way they choose to play is their business and no one else's. I'm sure that all would wish to be prescient and sell at the tops, and buy back at the bottoms. Because no one is, they play the stock according to their own investment philosophy. Sounds fair enough to me! I doubt that I will feel embarrassed when I do sell. Depending on the outcome, I may be ticked off, or I may be mildly pleased, or ecstatically happy, but embarrassed....why? Are you by any chance a reincarnation of Feline or someone else who has visited this thread under various names? Just curious!
