Here's some information from the Oracle web site

thanks for the paste of oracle's web pages?

don't confuse oracle marketing with oracle architecture. data cartridges (meaning those that run in the backend server) do not exist. i'm suggesting that when they do, the technical differences between them and datablades will be insignificant.

once informix has a middle-ware story datablades will also run in
every tier. we are already seeing the beginnings of multi-tier datablade support with the java announcement.

p.s. hi Rob. IMO you should the consider the cummins diesel snap-in datablade cartridge in your NSX for highly scalable towing capacity.
