The IB firm will find one or two lending institutions to put up the money to help with the acquisitions. It will be repaid when the company is sold. There is no catch. This is a lot cleaner than worrying about a hell of a lot of new shares floating around out there. IMO doing it this way will increase the eventual pay out per share. What I am going to say next is strictly my own opinion. Just as the IB firm knows what companies they are going to put in the DCI package, they also know what suitors will bid for the company. In other words, the DCI package is being put together for one or two specific suitors.
